W. Mack Lyon Middle School is a 30-year-old school in a 70+ year-old facility. It is located in a rural area with strong parent and community involvement. A modernization project supported by the 1994 bond monies was completed in November 1998. The school serves just over 400 students grades 6 through 8.  The school has established community partnerships within the area, which enhance instruction and provide non-traditional experiences.

The community of Lyon Middle School will promote and provide students with a technology-rich educational environment that supports individual needs, awareness of global community, skill development, problem solving, and lifelong learning.
